Is FolkAir a marketplace or software?
Both — that's the whole point. Aggregators give you a lead and walk away; ops tools (HoneyBook, Dubsado) give you software with no UK marketplace or verification. FolkAir is the only UK platform where verified discovery and the software to run the job — pricing engine, real-time messaging, EventOS/floorplan, supplier catalogue — live behind one login.
Does it take payments yet?
Not yet — paid checkout is not switched on, so registration is free for now and every button starts you on a free account. The go-forward model is a flat monthly subscription (tools and placement) plus a single 12% commission on confirmed bookings — the same 12% on every plan, Free included. Integrated payments via Stripe Connect are on the roadmap and we say so plainly. If a capability is not on this page as live, we have not shipped it.
How are suppliers and venues verified?
Businesses are checked against the UK register via Companies House at onboarding. Venues are claimed through a verification flow, and identity runs through a KYC wizard. On most marketplaces anyone can be anyone — on FolkAir, accounts are checked before they trade.
Is it UK-only?
Yes — by design. GBP-priced, Companies-House-integrated and built for the UK events market. We will cross water once the UK product is right.
What about reviews — can I leave one?
FolkAir displays aggregated, verified ratings on profiles so buyers can judge a supplier or venue honestly. We are deliberately precise here: reviews are shown, and we will not pretend a submission flow exists before it ships. No fabricated ratings, no fake counts.
