Do you charge per lead?
No, never. Every enquiry is included. Bridebook charges directory fees up front, AddtoEvent charges per credit, Hitched charges annual contracts at £1,000+. FolkAir makes money one way: a single flat 12% commission on confirmed bookings — the same 12% on every plan, the Free plan included. You only pay it when you actually win a booking. The optional monthly subscription buys tools and placement, not a lower rate. The full plans are published in writing on the pricing page so you can plan against them.
Are these real couples and organisers, or aggregator junk?
Real, verified accounts. Every couple signs up with an email and a phone, every organiser with a verified profile. You see who you're talking to before you reply. The "fictitious enquiry" pattern reported on Bridebook and Hitched is the thing this product was built to not be. Flag a lead as fake and we credit it back and investigate the same day.
What if I'm a 12-person crew, not a solo photographer?
The multi-asset, multi-van archetype is exactly who FolkAir is being built for. Today you get the full operational product — profile, pricing engine, real-time messaging, EventOS and the floorplan editor. Crew scheduling and asset tracking are on the roadmap (being built, not yet shipped); we say so plainly rather than imply a team feature that isn't there when you log in.
Will the price go up next year?
Possibly. We won't pretend prices never move. What we commit to: six months' written notice for any price change to an existing supplier, the new price published on this page before any email goes out, clean data export at any time. The 81% overnight HoneyBook hike won't happen here.
What about commission and Stripe fees?
The model is a single flat 12% on confirmed bookings — the same rate on every plan, with no charge until a booking confirms. Integrated card payments via Stripe Connect Express are rolling out next; until they ship, the 12% and paid subscriptions are not yet charged, and you and your customer arrange payment directly (bank transfer, your own Stripe link, your invoice — your call). When card payments go live, you pay Stripe's own card fee directly to Stripe (1.5% + 25p UK, 2.5% + 25p international) with zero FolkAir markup. The pricing is published in writing on this page so you can plan against it.
What if I want to leave?
Export everything. Bookings as CSV, contacts as CSV, calendar as ICS. No 12-month lock-in. We earn the next month or we don't.
Is FolkAir UK-only?
Yes — by design. GBP-priced, VAT-aware, Bank-Holiday-aware, Companies House-integrated. We'll cross water once the UK product is right.
