Aggregators sell you leads. CRMs sell you software. FolkAir is the verified UK marketplace with the operations software built in — and you pay 12% only when you win a booking.
Is FolkAir a good Add to Event alternative?
Yes — and a different kind of tool. Add to Event runs a pay-per-lead credit model: you buy credits to respond to an enquiry that has often been sold to several rivals at once. FolkAir never charges per lead — every enquiry is included — and it pairs the marketplace with a real pricing engine, real-time messaging and event-ops tooling so you can actually run the booking, not just buy the contact. You start free and pay a single 12% only when you win a booking.
Does FolkAir charge per lead like Bridebook or Add to Event?
No, never. There are no per-lead or per-credit charges and no placement fees to appear — not now, not later. The go-forward model is a flat subscription (tools and placement) plus a single flat 12% commission on confirmed bookings — the same 12% on every plan, so you only ever pay when you win. Subscription buys tools, not a lower rate, and the whole model is published in writing on the pricing page so you can plan against it. No renewal-hike surprise.
Is FolkAir like HoneyBook or Dubsado?
It overlaps on the software side but adds the half those tools are missing. HoneyBook and Dubsado are CRM/operations tools with no UK marketplace, no discovery engine and no business-register verification — they help you run work you found elsewhere. FolkAir gives you the operations software (pricing engine, real-time messaging, EventOS and a floorplan editor, service catalogue) and a Companies-House-verified UK marketplace that brings buyers, behind one login. UK-built.
How are FolkAir suppliers and venues verified?
Every business is checked against the UK register via Companies House at onboarding. Venues are claimed and verified through a dedicated claim flow, and identity runs through a KYC wizard. The "fictitious enquiry" pattern reported on some wedding directories is exactly the thing this verification layer is built to avoid — you see who you are talking to before you reply.
Does FolkAir take payments yet?
Not yet — and we list that as a gap, not a feature. FolkAir does not process payments, deposits or payouts today. Integrated card payments via Stripe Connect are rolling out next; until they ship you and your customer arrange payment directly, and the 12% commission and paid subscriptions are not yet charged. We would rather show the gap honestly than fake a button that does not work.
Is FolkAir UK-only?
Yes — by design. GBP-priced, Companies-House-integrated and built for the UK events market. Tagvenue, Bridebook and Hitched are UK too; HoneyBook and Dubsado are US-centric. FolkAir is the UK-built option that is both a verified marketplace and the software to run the job.
